Criminal proceedings are often sensitive predicaments to handle. The person facing charges may feel as if he or she is being unfairly accused or have other issues with the situation that could make him or her feel overwhelmed and emotional. Because confusion is not uncommon during such a time, information on criminal defense options may help.
One man in Virginia may be hoping to better understand his situation after recently being taken into custody. Reports stated that the event that led to the charges involved a man purportedly stealing a car from an auto shop and then hitting two employees with the vehicle. One of the employees suffered serious injuries while the other suffered only minor injuries, according to reports.
The man purportedly continued driving and later wrecked the vehicle. The driver of the car was not at the scene when police arrived. Nonetheless, police later took the 47-year-old man into custody, and he is currently facing charges for felonious assault and hit-and-run causing injuries. It was noted that additional charges may be leveled against him later. At the time of the report, the man was being held in custody without bond.
The circumstances this Virginia man now faces may have him feeling at a loss. Criminal allegations are not always easy to understand, and as a result, the man may not know where to begin when it comes to defending against them. Luckily, he has the opportunity to discuss his situation with his legal counsel and obtain information regarding his criminal defense options that could allow him to feel more in control of his predicament.
